Artists: Satu Kalliokuusi (paintings) & Birgitta Linhart (sculptures)

The exhibition explores the unique nature, stories, and mythologies of the Tornio River Valley, a region shared by Finland and Sweden. It highlights the deep connection between people, place, and tradition, bringing together the “underground” world of myths with the visible landscape. At the same time, the artists take a stand for preserving pure nature and aim to raise awareness of the importance of protecting the environment.

Näyttely tarkastelee Tornionjokilaakson ainutlaatuista luontoa, tarinoita ja mytologiaa alueella, joka jakautuu Suomen ja Ruotsin rajalle. Se tuo esiin ihmisten, paikan ja perinteiden syvän yhteyden yhdistäen myyttisen “alisen maailman” näkyvään maisemaan. Samalla taiteilijat ottavat kantaa puhtaan luonnon puolesta ja pyrkivät lisäämään tietoisuutta ympäristön suojelun merkityksestä.
